Computers are machines, and machines
sometimes break. Fortunately, most computer problems
can be repaired at a fraction of the cost of replacing the
computer. |

Today, having more than one computer
in your home is common. Networking your computers to
share your broadband connection between those computers has
become a lot easier for the standard user. Knowing how
to secure your network from hackers is a much more difficult
task. Be aware that your files and resources could be
exposed. Whether you have a wired or wireless network,
it is important that you protect your network. |

There are many reasons why our
computers start to slow down. Most often, these
computers can be brought back to life, and even run better
than when they were purchased, at a portion of the cost of
buying a new one. |

Technology changes so quickly.
What comes standard now, may not be enough six months from
now. You can always add to your computer rather than
purchase a new one with all the bells and whistles.
Typical upgrade items are:
more RAM
Larger Hard Drive
Wireless Adapter
CD Burner |

Viruses are very different from
Spyware. Viruses are intended to be destructive.
Viruses can open doors to your computer or cause your
computer not to reboot. It can destroy necessary files
and even disable your anti-virus program. They are
many ways viruses get on your computer. If you are not
protecting them all, you are a sure victim.

| Do you get windows
that pop-up every time you go on the internet? Is your
computer locking up frequently? Does it take longer than
ever before to go from one page to the next? If so, you
may be the next spyware victim. Spyware utilizes your
system resources to do its dirty job of watching you and
stealing your information. Because Spyware is not illegal,
its distribution is in far greater numbers than viruses.
Many of which we invite to our computer without realizing it.
For the average user, removal can be exhausting even with the
latest removal products. |

| Backup, Backup,
Backup! Always maintain a backup. Your computer can
be repaired or replaced, lost data can be your worst nightmare.
Rule of thumb...if you would feel sick if it was gone and you
couldn't get it back, BACK IT UP! Now backing up is easier
than ever, don't learn this lesson the hard way! |
